RULES

To enter the contest simply put your e-mail address in the newsletter subscription area which is located at the top of the e-zine page and click on “sign-up”.

You will receive one e-mail from the DS per month. Your address will not be used for any other purpose or given to other parties.

One winner will be randomly selected from all valid subscriptions by the staff of TheDustyShelf.com. You will automatically be added into the drawing when you subscribe to The Dusty Shelf newsletter. Previous subscribers are also automatically entered to win and do not need to re-subscribe.

TheDustyShelf.com will notify the randomly selected winner. The winner will have 7 days after notification to respond by e-mail in order to collect the prize .The e-mail must include name and mailing address (t-shirt size, optional).

Movers and Shakers
The Dusty Shelf invites you to enter into our “Movers and Shakers” essay contest, by writing and submitting an essay about literary "movers and shakers". We are looking for essays about novelists or novels that had a significant social or political impact on their time. To enter, e-mail your essay to webmaster@thedustyshelf.com with the subject line “Movers and Shakers” contest. Essays must be at least 400 words and no more than 1500 words. Essays must be original and not previously published. To qualify, essays must be received by July 15, 2005. One entry per person.

RULES FOR ESSAY CONTESTS

*Entries must include full name and mailing address (t-shirt size, optional).

Essays will be judged by the editor of TDS. The decision of the judge will be final. The Dusty Shelf reserves all rights to decide to publish or not to publish all submitted works. All publishing decisions are made exclusively by the editor.

Submissions will not be returned or acknowledged. If the Dusty Shelf publishes your work, you are granting us permission to publish it on the Dusty Shelf website and for that work to remain archived on the website indefinitely (The Dusty Shelf is granted a nonexclusive right to archive work in electronic back issues). The copyright remains with the author. If we accept your work for publication, the Dusty Shelf holds exclusive right to web rights for that work for two months after publication. Works first published at the Dusty Shelf should be noted as such if published elsewhere at a later date.

One winning essay will be selected for publication in The Dusty Shelf e-Zine. The winner will also receive a Dusty Shelf merchandise package. One or more honorable mentions may also be selected.
